Melissa Folzenlogen/'Baethoven'
Baethoven is a touring violinist, singer and guitarist who’s musical stylings will grab your attention and leave you wanting more. From NYC’s subway cars and wedding halls to SXSW, iHeartradio, Lincoln Center, Spotify's Discover Weekly, NPR’s Tiny Desk and recently on country super star Dasha's Billboard charting hit 'Austin', her performances have been enjoyed by hundreds of millions worldwide. A musician’s musician, she’s just as likely to bust out some Led Zeppelin or Lizzo, The Beatles or Billie Eilish, or slide from Stevie Wonder to Silk Sonic. A classically trained violinist, she has the chops to wow any crowd, with a speciality in marrying the virtuosity of classical music to the crowd pleasing hits of the last 70 years.
Just as likely to leave an audience moved to tears by beauty as she is to leave jaws dropped on the floor from mind-melting solos, whether she’s playing solo, duo, trio, quartet or full band (with her network of world class, touring, award and competition winning musicians from the world’s most prestigious music institutions) for 5 or 5000 people, she and her team will bring their best to your events, and customize the playlist and vibe for exactly what you have envisioned. Baethoven understands that most people’s opportunity to have a musician capable of switching from Tupac to Rachmaninoff to Taylor Swift and then some Metallica on the spot might be fairly limited - and she delights in being able to deliver once in a lifetime moments for anyone she plays for. Making music or making conversation, she’s a people person happy to make sure clients get an awesome show and an easy to work with professional to handle the entertainment.
Baethoven can also create custom audio! Need violins for your record? Want a speech recorded into your favorite song as you walk down the aisle to your family and beloved? Want a new theme song for a grand entrance? Custom song, just for you? How about ‘The Wedding March’ arranged in the style of Queen? All things she has done for clients, and would be happy to do for you to add some extra special magic to your vision.
In addition, Baethoven is also a music business coach, acting as a consult for a network of musicians across the globe for advice regarding effective business operations for musicians specifically - an often underserved yet crucial skillset needed for musicians to survive in today’s economy- and is available for consultations and public speaking regarding business operations for musicians.
Is your project a bit more unconventional/atypical, or requires screen time or acting ability? With a background in improv comedy from the famed UCB improv school and her recent stint as a lead in a play in the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, she absolutely loves an interesting/unique request - whether it’s playing violin on a gondola, or performing long form works of comedic/dramatic style, she’d love to hear about your idea and is almost always game for something different and fun.
Whether you just need some elegant background music, or a rockstar to command center attention of the stage, Baethoven’s got you covered.
Learning more about you, the music you'd like to hear (and song requests), the event, and what the vibe is will help us get started. I have an extensive song list and song 'menus' you can choose from, but I can curate myself if you'd rather not choose, and I can also play over a playlist you make with selections that might not be on my list
- I jam over music all the time, it's tons of fun! I play all styles and for all types people, so whether it's a party of 2 or 2,000, an elegant affair or a wild rager, I've got you covered. I do parties, weddings, surprise marriage proposals, corporate events, recordings, and tours.
Once we've got the music settled,
I'll ask a bit more about your needs, such as sound set up/location/number of guests, special requests (such as additional songs or equipment, custom audio recordings, etc) - all things that may effect pricing.
After figuring out your audio/production needs, I'll send you a quote. If it all sounds good, after that I just need some basic info like your name, event date, start/end time, the event address, and an email address to send the agreement to. Then we do a 50% deposit (via paypal, venmo, zelle, cashapp, as well as other booking site services) -
and we're all set!
Balance is typically due the day of the service rendered.
I know putting together an event or project can be lots of work and very stressful, so I make it a point for this process to be easy so you have one less thing to worry about. In fact, I am so confident in my ability to deliver that as long as the agreement terms have been executed properly on your behalf, if for whatever reason I should fail to meet mine,
I offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back - which I've never needed to utilize because my client satisfaction rate is 100%.
Feel free to stay in touch, particularly if anything comes up (like song changes, time shifts, time extension requests) and I'll always do my best to accommodate.
